Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program
The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct loans (federally funded student loans) after you have made 120 (10 years) qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.
Qualifications
To qualify for PSLF, you must:
- Work for a government agency (federal, state, local, or tribal) or for certain types of nonprofit organizations,
- Work full-time for that agency or organization;
- Have loans consolidated under U.S. Dept. of Education with a qualifying servicer;
- Repay your loans on an income-driven repayment plan; and
- Make 120 qualifying payments.
